What is a sharing circle?

Circle sharing is a supportive and empowering practice where women gather in a circle to share their thoughts, stories, and experiences in a safe, respectful space.

Each woman is given the opportunity to speak without interruption, while others listen with empathy and without judgment.

This format fosters deep connection, mutual understanding, and a sense of sisterhood. It’s often used for healing, reflection, and building community, allowing every voice to be heard and valued equally.

I've put together a list of FAQs that covers everything you might want to know about how the groups are run and what to expect. Hopefully, it’ll give you a clearer idea of whether a sharing circle feels like the right fit for you.

My circle journey

Hi I'm Clare... the 'Clare' of Share with Clare....

The name .. I know..!! ...it rhymed! 😊

There's an 'about me' section which gives more information about me and my experience, but for now,

lets get down to business and I'll explain how I got here.

Over the last 10 years I have spent my holiday time camping in retreat type environments with wonderful humans who value kindness, creativity, music, and treading gently on the earth.

It’s in these spaces that I discovered sharing circles.

I attended a couple of circle sharing groups as a participant, I was curious and a bit apprehensive at first, but then

I began to understand the power a sharing circle has to instigate healing, acceptance, and validation.

The simple act of being heard is incredibly powerful. No-one interrupted me with their advice or personal story.

As someone who rarely feels truly heard, the experience was intense—almost overwhelming.

Being in a space with women who share the belief that caring and sharing are sacred acts is deeply affirming.

There’s a lot of conversation around “being your authentic self.” It sounds simple—just be you. But what if you’re not quite sure who you are yet? Many of us spend years trying to meet expectations, fit into roles, or be who others want us to be. It’s easy to lose sight of what feels true for ourselves.

I’m still on that journey of self-discovery. I don’t have all the answers—and that’s okay.

This space is for everyone. A place where every voice matters. Where being unsure is just as welcome as being certain.

If a space like this calls to you, send me a message through the 'Contact me' page and I'll add you to my mailing list.

My Bookings page will have details of any groups that are available to join. These will be in and around the Milton Keynes area.
